Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.
Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

What you bring:
- Promoting and embracing One Team and Zero Incident philosophies through continued action and support of the projects HSE Vision Statement and Home Safe commitments
- Implementing a project-level safety management program in area(s) assigned by the HSE Manager or Deputy HSE Manager - Field Operations.
- Providing technical assistance and consultation to project and construction management in implementing and complying with project HSE requirements and in addressing safety/health issues as they arise during project execution.
- Coordinating and providing technical assistance to other project-assigned functional leads (e.g., engineering, subcontracts, procurement, project controls) with regards to compliance with project-specific safety/health requirements.
- Participating in meetings with customer, project team members, and subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements that may affect project design, schedule, and cost.
- Providing technical support and assistance directly to construction supervision and subcontractors in planning and executing field activities in accordance with the project safety requirements.
- Working with construction personnel to develop risk assessments, JHA’s and project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.
About you:
- Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area preferred
- Diverse experience in HSE role
- Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys is preferred
- Proficiency in conducting HSE training programs
- Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications
- Excellent written and oral communication
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training preferred
Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
